This Bizarre Mummy Found In Wyoming Could Be Evidence Of An Ancient Pygmy Race

One of the most bizarre discoveries to come out of Wyoming (besides Harrison Ford) is the San Pedro Mountains Mummy -- a fascinating specimen that has sparked much scientific debate over the years. Some say that this is the mummy of a deformed infant. Others believe that this strange creature was part of an ancient pygmy race.
What's even weirder is that the San Pedro Mountains Mummy has been missing since 1950. If only Harrison Ford could actually be Indiana Jones, and not just an eccentric, earring-loving thespian. Indy could totally crack this case.

Gold prospectors Cecil Mayne and Frank Carr were digging in the San Pedro Mountains in 1932 when they came across something a little less lucrative. Much to their surprise, they unearthed the body of what appeared to be a tiny human.

Some scientists theorize that the mummy is simply a deformed infant. Other researchers think that the being died between the ages of 16 and 65, since they determined that it had a full set of teeth. They even found traces of raw meat between two of the molars.

People also speculate that the mummy gives credence to an ancient Native American myth. In some versions of the Nimeriga story, these tiny people were a friendly bunch with magical healing powers. In others, they were murderous creatures who killed and ate members of other tribes.

Strangely enough, the mummy itself has been missing for 65 years. It was last seen in the hands of a man named Leonard Walker, but it has been unaccounted for ever since.

It's frustrating, because in the last 65 years huge strides have been made in carbon dating and DNA testing. With the use of that technology, we could easily find out both the age and origin of this mummy. But until it resurfaces, the mystery of the San Pedro Mountains Mummy will remain unsolved.
